Create Event Schedule - Step 2

The Create Event Schedule screen allows you to create a group of bulletins that is automatically refreshed by the Event Schedule Plugin to display current or future events.  The events can come from AxisTV or from an external Event Management System.  The second step in creating an event schedule bulletin group is to change the visual attributes of the bulletins from their defaults (unless you don't want to change anything).

Since you can create as many event schedule bulletin groups as you wish you need to provide a name to distinguish them once they've been scheduled in playlists.  This name is also visible in My Bulletins.

You can choose any available Aspect Ratio.

You can choose any Background image that is available for the Aspect Ratio you've chosen.

You can choose any background Audio file.  It will play for every bulletin defined by the group.

If you want a date block displayed on every bulletin you can check the Show Date box and pick a date format.  The Top and Left values are in pixels relative to the dimensions of the Aspect Ratio chosen.  In this sample the Top is 5 units down from the top out of 600 units and the Left is 5 units to the right out of 800 units.

All blocks (Date, Title, Events, Locations, Cancelled Events, and Time) allow you to specify the rendition of the font: Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough.

Many blocks (Date, Title, Events, Locations, and Time) allow you to specify the font color, name and size.

If you want a title block displayed on every bulletin you can check the Show the Title box and enter title text.  The Top and Left values are in pixels relative to the dimensions of the Aspect Ratio chosen.  In this sample the Top is 5 units down from the top out of 600 units and the Left is 5 units to the right out of 800 units.

Event Attributes

You can specify the font attributes and the boundaries of the event block.

Event Location Attributes

You can specify the font attributes and the left boundary of the locations.  This is normally used to indent the locations under the events.

If you want the building name to display beside the room name, check the box.

Cancelled Event Attributes

You can specify the font rendition for cancelled events - to visually differentiate them from NON-cancelled events.

You can control the time format by choosing a format from the dropdown list.

The Event Schedule plugin regenerates all event schedule bulletins on a regular basis.  When it regenerates them, it reapplies them to all playlists.  The contents of the bulletins is likely to change so the system can calculate the pacing for you.  If you don't want automatic pacing then select an appropriate number of seconds.  Each bulletin will use the number of seconds you specify.

Padding is blank space that vertically separates one even from another, or one start time from another.  Padding is used to make text easier to read.  The number you enter represents pixels relative to the dimensions of the Aspect Ratio chosen.

Text for NO EVENTS

There is always the possibility that NO EVENTS will match your selection criteria from Step 1 at any given point in the future, so you must specify the text to display when this happens.

You can force a regeneration of the preview bulletin(s) at any time by clicking Preview.

As you change the visual settings the preview thumbnails are automatically regenerated by the Event Schedule Plugin.

If you wish to disregard all your changes and go back to the menu or previous screen you can click Cancel.

If you wish to change your selection criteria you can click Back.  Once everything is set the way you want it you can click Next to schedule the bulletin group on one or more playlists, depending upon your privileges.
