Dean Evans EMS Adapter

The Dean Evans EMS Adapter screen allows you to configure the Dean Evans EMS Adapter service that regularly copies events from the Dean Evans EMS database to the AxisTV database.  Once the events are copied to the AxisTV database, the AxisTV Event Schedule Plugin creates bulletins from them automatically.

You can specify any value greater than 0.  Recommended values include 15, 30 and 60.  This controls how frequently the Dean Evans Adapter copies events from the Dean Evans EMS database to the AxisTV database.  The more frequently you update your Dean Evans EMS system the smaller this number should be.

In order to configure the adapter you must tell it which version of EMS you are using.  Lite, Professional and Enterprise are supported.

Lite/Professional Location

When you use Lite or Professional, you must tell AxisTV where the Dean Evans EMS database is on the network.  You should use UNC paths, as in:  \\myserver\myshare\mydir\prodat40.mdb

Enterprise SQL Server

When you use Enterprise, you must tell AxisTV the name of the SQL Server computer.  This name can be a DNS name or address.  Consult your network administrator for help.

SQL Database

After you specify the name of the SQL Server computer you must give the name of the database on the server.  Consult your DBA (Database Administrator) for help.

Windows Authentication

Choose Yes or No based on the way the SQL Server Database is configured to allow logins.  Consult your network and database administrators.

SQL User ID

If you are not using Windows Authentication then you need to provide the SQL User ID.  Consult your DBA for help.

In order to set or change the password you must enter the new password and click Change Password.  Consult your DBA for help.

Once you have set all the information that AxisTV needs to find and communicate with the Dean Evans EMS database you can test the connection by clicking Connect.  If any errors occur then you will be given those connection errors on your screen so you can get assistance from the network or database administrators.  If no errors occur then the lower portion of the screen will contain the Event Rooms, Types and Statuses found in the Dean Evans EMS Database.

In order to include rooms, types and statuses you highlight items in the appropriate Excluded list and click the > button to the right of the list.

Click > to include selected excluded items.
